This family and I went to Shafer Park for their session. There was a little soccer with Dad, some playing around the jungle jim, swinging on the swings and we ended it with a little cool off in the fountain! I worked up a sweat chasing them around ... but it was worth it because in the end I captured some precious images!
notice his little mix & match socks ... mom says its his trademark!
It's that time of year again when I shoot a lot of families. Julia brought some things that were specific to her kids personalities. I thought it was a great idea.
So I've been shooting a lot outside the Dayton area lately and I really enjoy it! Cincinnati makes up 1/2 my business these days and it really helps keep me fresh and creative. These two below were definitely worth the drive ... along with a former favorite bride "Ali" who referred them :) thanks! Anyway, I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with Chelsea and watching her bro play a little golf. He was a trooper cause he wasn't a big fan of the photo shoot thing .... In the end I was super pleased with the outcome. Looking forward to seeing you guys again and Rob enjoy!
I'm in Chicago for a workshop with one of my all time favorite photographers Audrey Woulard. It has been such a great experience hanging out and learning how she does things. Below you'll see some images I took using her techniques. Audrey shoots modern childrens portraiture for an elite Chicago market, Pottery Barn Kids, and many others. Not only is she a talented and smart business woman .... she's also very down-to-earth and a super cool chic!
I've been MIA from the blog because I've been trying to catch up and get organized. But then we got the strong wind storms from IKE here in Ohio and I've been without power since Sunday. I'm off sight (at a local coffee shop with power & internet) trying to get some work done until we get power back ... but they're predicting Sunday at this point....ahh!
In the meantime, here are some of my favorite images from Nick & Caitlin's engagement session. We went to Miami of Ohio where they both attended. It was a cute little town and I really enjoyed shooting there. Thanks for waiting on this post. I know you are both pre-occupied with all study & no play at the moment. Nick is in law school while Caitlin is in med school .... so enjoy these!
You both are so sweet and I can't wait until your New Year's Eve wedding!
While in California I photographed one of my November couples. James and Corri are getting married here in Dayton but live in Pasadena. They drove out to Manhattan Beach where I was staying for the session. It was a lot of fun for me to shoot near the beach. I actually lived here in my early 20's and met my husband here too! I lived on the 2nd block of 16th street with a beach view. lsn't it beautiful?
this picture was taken during mid day .. very sunny! I use to be in really good shape back then but look at the views. I would run and check out the homes, the water or the beautiful people ... it was easy to get out for run back then.
I wanted to do some beach pictures but James was flying out that morning so I decided it wasn't a good idea to get him sandy. It was kinda foggy at 8:30 am but I still enjoyed shooting on the pier, the strand and the walk streets. Shooting on the strand was a bit scary ... I was lucky not to get run over by bikers though ...yikes they're on the move!
