So I asked for snow and apparantly we are getting it ... and more on the way I hear! Weather Bug predicts 8 to 11 inches by tomorrow. So here I am working from home while the boys are in & out playing in the snow ... YAY for winter!
When I photographed the Hughs family over the holidays .... Flora's son-in-law Michael had his video camera out and wouldn't stop shooting. At the time I thought OK ... cool but you need to put the camera down so I can see you :) it was cute! I wasn't sure what Michael was planning on doing with his footage until I got an email from him the other day. Attached he had a little clip of the session. His plan is to give it to Flora as a gift but he gave it to me tool.
Thanks Michael! And thanks to Katie our OU intern this winter for shooting with me! I thought it would be fun to post it here as well ...
This awesome family came out to the studio with their boys on a cold, rainy winter day. They brought some of their favorite things to the session which I thought was great! I cranked up the heat to keep toasty warm and began shooting ...
Their adorable one year old Nate ...
and big brother Jack ...
listening to some tunes with his favorite toy "the ipod" ...
jack also loves football ...
nate played with anything and was such a joy to photograph ...
nothing like a real genuine smile ...
wheeee ... thanks guys it was great hanging out with you!
So after the church we headed downtown to The Canary where Corri + James lived before they moved to California. I did make one pit stop "no not the Cox Arboretum" but a construction site across the street. It was cold, dusty and dirty ... thanks to the gang for letting me do my thing. Oh and sorry to the Hummer driver .... he was definitely not happy with the trail of dirt that made its way back into the limo.
But what a beautiful background this made. I personally prefer this to a gazebo, a man made pond and keeping all the other photographers shooting at the cox out of my shots .... don't you think?
thanks again to Libby .... some of the shots below are taken by her as well.
These two were married Thanksgiving weekend. There was a chill in the air but the day could not have been more beautiful. The wedding was held at St. Henry Catholic Church and their reception was at the Dayton Art Institute. I wanted to thank Libby for 2nd shooting this wedding with me. We had such a great time along with Dave Schmaus (photographer and musician) from Velvet Crush who shot the photobooth. Pictures of that soon to come!
This image was taken in Corri's childhood bedroom. I love when brides get ready at the home where they grew up. There is such an intimate feeling.
I always have so much fun checking out the hair inspiration pictures ... and i always take a snapshot cause who knows if this will make it past the wedding day.
Mom and sis helping Corri get her dress on ...
In the meantime, James was at the home where he grew up getting ready for the big day with his mom & dad.
James went to pick up the guys at the hotel before they headed to the church ...
Is she not just BEAUUUTIFUL and that sweet playful smile .... she was a dream to photograph!
Over the holidays I get a lot of calls to take extended family portraits. This is a great time to capture a family picture and since I was in town this past year I decided to do a few. We were lucky to have mild weather this yea :)
Both of the boys are getting married this year ... here they are with their growing family!
These two have been waiting patiently for some wedding images this past month. Well the wait is almost over. You'll see more next week ... Hope you all have a great weekend :)
This cutie was in the studio recently and I can't wait to show the family all the adorable images I captured. Here's a little smile from Olivia :) more next week ...
This Oakwood senior was the sweetest and so much fun. We went outside and in ... I've really enjoyed shooting in my new studio during these colder days. The natural light leaves such a fresh, clean look in the images. I'm planning all kinds of fun things here in the next couple months.
Here are a few of my favorites from Laura's senior session ...
I love the shot on the right ...
Her girlfriends jumped in a few shots before we finished the session!
We rang in the New Year at the Dayton Country Club shooting our last wedding of the year. We went out with a bang with Nick + Caitlin. Below is a shot of my assistant Amanda, me and Katie (one of wonderful interns) before the end of the night. Back on Friday ... with some fresh blog posts including Laura (senior) Corri & James (wedding), Olivia (1 year old) and many more!
